Inhebantu Mutesi Jovia Queen Of Busoga

The Inhebantu, Mother of the people is the queen consort to the Kyabazinga of Busoga

Parentage

Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi is the first born of Mr. Stanley Bayole and Mrs. Rebecca Nakisita Bayole of Mayuge district.

Education

Jovia attended St. Mary's College Namagunga before joining Makerere University where she pursued a Barchelor of Laws degree in graduated with honors. She then joined Law Development Center for her post-graduate diploma in legal practice. The Inhebantu also holds a Master of Laws degree in human rights and democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Career

Jovia started her career as a legal officer at the Uganda Human Rights Commission, a constitutional body that protects and promotes human rights in Uganda. In 2016, she joined Katende, Ssempebwa & Company Advocates as an associate. She specialized in corporate and commercial law, civil litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. She also participated in pro bono work and mentored young lawyers. She later left the firm to focus on her royal duties as the Inhebantu of Busoga

On September 23, 2023, Dr. Joseph Muwawala, the Katukiro of Busoga unveiled the portrait of Ms Jovia Mutesi. The was the official announcement that the Inhebantu has been identified and the wedding would follow in a couple of months.

On Nov 18, 2023,in a historical ceremony, Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope Kadhumbula IV wedded the Inhebantu at Christ's Church Cathedral in Bugembe, Jinja
